Feminism Question Time
Hey, if you'd done a bunch of research and editing work on a group paper*, and one of the guys in the group thanked you for the typing, would you feel a little like that guy was being kind of sexist? Or do I just read too many Grrl blogs that make me even more angry and hysterical than uterus-bearing individuals are wont to be? Discuss.
Today is Paper Day. There are four more pages before my limit on this paper but tonnes of material to put in. I guess I'll be doing a lot of "typing". And then it's time for political science, which is terrifying to me and I do not know how I am going to finish it.
Katie has set up a blog to chronicle her adventures at pre-vet school! How very exciting. She also appears to be changing her name to Kat for the purposes of her Grenadan adventures. I may add her to my blogroll. Oh wait, I don't have a blogroll.
*Not to mention: if you were the only one of your group of three people to come to meetings consistently instead of failing to show for no discernible reason and then, later, failing to apologize. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Oooo I'll jump in on this even though I should be being productive....
I was chatting with one of your 'group' 'members' before class began...his name rhymes with Momaim. Anyway, he mentioned to me that he felt really bad because he didn't contribute much essentially and felt bad that you had to retype his contribution. He seemed genuinely apologetic...however that being said, it would have been nice if you had gotten some indication of that from him :S He said he was tied up with his business presentation the same week...that was his excuse. Granted, the business presentation sucks....however you don't duck out of your other work because you are not the only one with multiple projects...
In summary, he expressed regret to me and thought you should know. However, I didn't give him any sympathy. What happened was shitty. Honestly it would have been bad enough if he couldn't put much time into the project, but letting you know he wasn't going to attend meetings would have been good :S
As for whether it was sexist on his part to thank you for 'the typing'...I dunno I never got the impression he was sexist. Perhaps it was that he felt awkward, wanted to thank you but felt really bad about his lack of participation, and it came out kind of dumb. Who knows?
Thank god that's over :D Well we'll both know who not to work with again eh?
*hugs*
